This summary will serve to further cement my learnings taken when reading the seventh chapter of Refactoring UI, titled Working with Images, and I hope will provide some learnings to you as well.

Use of Good Photos

• Options for non-professional photographers include hiring a professional or using high-quality stock photography.

Text Needs Consistent Contrast

• Background image dynamics can make text legibility challenging.
• Solutions include adding overlays, lowering image contrast, colorizing the image, or using text shadows.

Everything Has an Intended Size

• Scaling icons or screenshots improperly can lead to loss of detail and professionalism.
• Maintaining the intended size of icons and choosing appropriate screenshots prevents visual distortion.

Beware User-Uploaded Content

• User-uploaded images may disrupt layout and color harmony.
• Controlling shape and size, preventing background bleed, and using subtle inner shadows help maintain design integrity.
